Your Nabaztag mainly uses his lights to express things without speech as he doesn't want to be too intrusive. 

He will use different lights to say different things.

1. The light under his feet
The light under Nabaztag's feet just shows that your Rabbit is alive. When you receive a musical message, it is also used as part of the lightshow.

2. The light on his tummy
Nabaztag mainly uses the lights on his tummy and nose to tell you things. 
Different color animations are used to provide information, as requested in the Services section, or to describe what he is doing.

3. The light on his nose
The nose area is dedicated to telling you that you have received a message.
